I recently received the very good news that I have been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fellowship to pursue a two-year project at the University of Jyväskylä. During the project, named INTERSTATE, I will be diving into the question of state-dependence of interoception, i.e. when does the brain couple more strongly to the internal organs. I’ll furthermore explore whether these dynamic changes in interoception have any functional relevance for mental health. The project will be completed under the supervision of Tiina Parviainen and will be using the MEG-EEG and TMS-EEG facilities at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research (CIBR).
